Natural graphite is divided according to the range of application and physicochemical and technological properties. Natural graphite is divided on phanerocrystalline and cryptocrystalline graphite.

This type of graphite is intended for drilling works in gas-and-oil producing industry. It is also used in cast iron, steelmaking and metal-working industry in production of paints and pastes, in dusting of work surfaces of moulds and cores in foundry. GL-2 — used in production of paints, pastes and parting powder.

GL-3 — used for powdering in foundry.

Crucible graphite (GТ) is used in production of refractory graphite-ceramic products, melting crucibles. Usage of crucible graphite increases thermal conductivity of products. Grades GТ-1, GТ-2, GТ-3.

Flake graphite is intended for steel and iron-melting industries. It is used in production of graphite brushes, paints, antistatic coatings, accumulators and other products. This type of graphite is basic material for expandable graphite.
